Behavioural Concerns

Behaviour & Emotions

Addressing frequent temper tantrums, oppositional defiance, aggressive outbursts, rule defiance, and persistent non-compliance in children and teens.

While occasional defiance or emotional outbursts are normal developmental phases, recurring aggressive conduct, extreme defiance, destructive habits, or refusal to follow parental authority signal underlying emotional overwhelm or behavioral distress.

  • Severe, prolonged temper tantrums disproportional to the event
  • Argumentativeness with parents, teachers, and authority figures
  • Physical aggression (hitting, biting, kicking, throwing objects)
  • Deliberately annoying others or blaming peers for own mistakes
  • Difficulty following bedtime, homework, or screen-time rules
  • Inability to verbally articulate intense frustration, fear, or sadness
  • Sensory overload, chronic fatigue, or neurodevelopmental traits (ADHD)
  • Inconsistent parenting boundaries or family tension at home
  • Bullying or feeling misunderstood in academic or social settings
  • Behaviors causing danger to self, siblings, or school peers
  • School disciplinary actions, suspensions, or teacher complaints
  • Parental exhaustion and persistent daily hostility in the home
  • Functional Behavioral Analysis (identifying triggers and reinforcing factors)
  • Positive behavioral support plans and token reinforcement systems
  • Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) principles and emotional regulation coaching
